Sunlight & Thunder

I've lost count of the times I have visited Elk Falls Provincial Park near Campbell River on Vancouver Island, B.C.
I was totally unprepared for the treat awaiting me and all visitors on this day. Due to a solid four day rain in the mountains, the water level was too high for the John Hart dam. The flood gates were wide open dumping water into the valley region below the dam and providing a rarely seen display of raw water power.
