This is a new Gallery. Added July 2020. It will feature the small, the very small. Most images will have been taken with a macro lens, but there are other ways of obtaining images of the very small. The onset of the Covid 19 pandemic forced a change in the way most of us live. Photographing the small turned out to be an interesting and do-able past time.
Many macro images will have been "assembled" from multiple frames, each containing a different point of focus. These are called focus stacks. The use of an image editor compiles the multiple frames and subsequently blends all the "in focus" parts providing an "all in focus" representation of the subject. This gives the photographer the ability to display an image that would be impossible from one image frame due to limitations of the physics involved.
