Tiny Gems

The head of these little mushrooms is about one quarter of an inch to three eighths of an inch in diameter. The forests are full of them in the fall. These were seen on the Holland Creek Trail, Ladysmith, Vancouver Island, BC.
The rain stopped just before I started up the trail. As usual on such occasions, the colours were magnified by the wet conditions. There were literally thousands of these, all over the slopes.
