Trestle No.6
Trestle No.6 is the largest of the remaining trestles of the Kettle Valley railway in Southern BC.
The historic old railway route fell victim to the wild fires of 2003, 12 of the 16 wooden trestles suffered badly or were completely destroyed. However, being made of steel, No.6 trestle survived, for the most part, only the wooden material burning, leaving the steel structure to live another day. But the visible scars remain from the super heated steel structure. The BC government was at least fore sighted enough to fund the rebuild of all the damaged trestles, wood and steel. This trestle is the longest and highest at 220m long and 55m high.
