Dark Falls

Dark Falls

So named, by yours truly, because of the environment in which they're located. Like so many other falls on Vancouver Island, these have no official name. Tucked away beside an active logging road, these falls are passed many times a day by loaded logging trucks, thus eliminating the ability of most of the general public to see them even if they knew the falls were there. Indeed, one can stand only 20ft away from their location and barely be able to detect their existence, so dark and concealed. All of the pictures taken here required relatively long exposure times
